To each parent his or her own little preferences for the sex of their child. But there are those who wait patiently to receive the gift without wanting to know the sex of their child. And there are those who prepare well in advance to conceive a child of the sex of their choice. After the effort to choose the sex of your baby, you can observe the result by determining the sex on the ultrasound scan from the 22nd week of pregnancy. However, it is important to know that the sex of the baby is determined at fertilization, i.e. at the moment when the ovum, which is the female gamete, always carrying the X, and the spermatozoon, which is the male gamete, which can be an X or a Y, meet. The meeting between two X's will give a girl and between an X and a Y will give a boy.
THE NUTRITIONAL METHOD TO GUIDE THE CHOICE OF SEX OF ONE'S CHILD
It is important to know that this method of choosing the sex of your child cannot guarantee 100% success.
There is the nutritional method of following a diet, which is prepared about two to three months in advance. This preparation is done by the couple knowing that it takes about three months for the sperm to form and mature. Thus the diet for the man will help the environment to produce more gametes carrying X or more Y. For the woman, the diet will prepare the chemical property of the cervical mucus to be received, and to feed the sperm. Thus, a diet rich in calcium and low in salt will cause the cervical mucus to acidify and favour the father's X-carrying gametes. On the other hand, a potassium-free diet rich in alkaline salt will increase the pH of the cervical mucus and feed the father's Y-carrying gametes.
THE CONCEPTION DATE METHOD
This principle is based on the physical property of cervical mucus: a wide and fine mesh. Thus, if you want to have a daughter, conceiving your child around 5 days before ovulation is the prescribed date because the spermatozoa carrying the X are resistant and slow and will arrive at their destination, meeting the ovum on the day of ovulation. On the other hand, to have a boy, you must conceive the baby on the day of ovulation until 2 days afterwards because sperm Y is fast but not very resistant.
AND THE GENETIC METHOD...
Only the genetic method allows you to choose the sex of your baby, but it is important to emphasize that this genetic method is necessary to avoid transmitting the hereditary diseases linked to the sexes: hemophilia A and B, myopathy. To do this, a PGD or Preimplantation Diagnosis must be done. After separation of the spermatozoa carrying X and Y, in vitro fertilization is carried out and the embryo is implanted by artificial insemination.
The genetic method of choosing the sex of one's baby is prohibited if the intention is not related to the presence of hereditary disease.
